[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was skeptical when I got this perfume. YSL makes some really really great scents and they tend to be top shelf but I hadn’t heard much about Y Elixir and was going only off the brand equity this time. I was not disappointed. 5min into applying the scent I started to get the feeling that it’s one I’ve known. It has very familiar notes of lavender-made-manlier with a touch of oud and Geranium. It’s the kind of scent you want in your body wash but hate not lasting through the day. Y elixir makes up for that with a scent that by real world applications seems to have lasted atleast 7 days on one-time wear clothes and up to 2 days with repeats! I don’t know about you but that’s about par with what I’ve come to expect my perfume investments to provide! Anything less and it may as well be a body spray. All in all, not sure why this product doesn’t have enough glowing reviews yet but I’m sure it will be in the YSL lineup for years to come.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The L’Elixir is a product that is well put together. Let’s start off with the packaging. The composition of the packaging from the outer box to the actual bottle for the Scent is very well thought out. The textured look of the outer packaging(the sides) is correlated to the textured lid of the bottle that holds the scent. It’s well thought out and you really appreciate the thought when you notice the attention to detail YSL put into the products design from the first encounter we have with just the packaging to opening the box and unveiling the bottle which holds the scent. The bottle’s feel is sturdy and it’s shaped as a standing rectangle with a nice dark navy hue for the glass. The bottle cover is textured for grip and feel with the very top of that bottle having a clean light gray matte finish for the YSL logo. The scent itself is vibrant and has a nice staying power. It feels clean and refreshing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] YSL Y Elixir fragrance is a strong oud forward scent with a dark bluish atmosphere. Definitely a good evening/night-time fragrance; I don't see this being a good Summer scent, though. It's much too bold and exotic to ever be Summer-esque. The bottle is weighty, heavy and strong. The design is also beautiful, with a Y stretched around the square glass. The fragrance lasts all day. What I've come to notice about most of YSL fragrances, is that whatever you spritz it on, will forever be scented as THAT specific fragrance. This is no exception. My brother sprayed some on his jacket a few weeks ago and the jacket still smells of this scent, even after several washes. So, that's good to know if you happen to love a YSL scent but not good, if you don't. My brother happens to adore this scent, so it's definitely a bonus for him. All in all, a nice manly scent that smells unlike traditional 'male' scents on the market.
