[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My hair type is dry/damaged. For the past 15+ years, I have bleached, dyed, and stripped my hair countless times. It finally caught up to me 2 years ago when it started breaking. My hair length went from mid-back to shoulder-length due to the breakage. I've held back from dyeing since then, and my hair is finally back to mid-back. However, the dryness and damage hasn't seemed to improve much at all. I've tried multiple different hair systems, but haven't been WOWed until now. After using the shampoo one time, there was a noticeable (to me) difference. Shampoo is usually extremely drying to my hair, even the ones that claim to be hydrating, but this actually seemed to introduce moisture back into my locks. I've used it a few times now, but can already tell that this shampoo is superior to the others I've tried.
This product has made my hair feel incredibly soft and hydrated even before putting conditioner in my hair. I’ve always had naturally wavy long dry hair and with foils aswell makes my hair always dry and can never get enough moisture however with this product I can feel a huge difference already only after a few times of using this. Don’t need much of this shampoo so it will last quite a while.

I love the packaging, I think it's super cute! This shampoo smells amazing! It has a very unique scent. It's not too strong or overpowering but I love how I can still smell it even after washing my hair. With most shampoos and conditioners, the scent will wear off after I'm done washing my hair. A little goes a long ways for the application. I used about a dime size amount and it was enough to make suds. My hair feels a lot more cleaner and softer. For the price point it is more on the high end side but it's well worth the coins! I would highly recommend this shampoo (which I also used with the conditioner and thermal cream from this same line).

I loved the shampoo and conditioner I tried before so I was excited to try this line for dry hair. My hair is salon colored and I blow dry/heat style my hair several times a week. With this my hair tends to be on the dryer side so I love using hair products that provide some protection against heat styling while also helping to bring moisture back to my hair. This shampoo provided just that. I do feel that it didn't strip my hair and leave it feeling dry. My hair felt soft yet clean after using this shampoo. The smell of the shampoo was good (always a must for me). The only downside I have is that the shampoo container is pretty small and pricey. This brand though is great quality so it is worth the steeper price point. I will definitely be repurchasing in the future.

Have horrible hair due to menopause and autoimmune diseases. My hair went from looking like hagrid after washing to smooth silky soft hair again. You literally can’t put a price on that. Amazing stuff. Can’t use anything else now !

Kérastase is my go to brand, no other delivers so consistently with their shampoos masques and styling, however when I purchased this I expected it to perform in the same way as my beloved magistral shampoo but it’s no where near as moisturising. With the old shampoo I hardly needed to follow with conditioner, with the new version my hair feels thirsty, it’s not as stripped as some people have experienced but it needs a deep condition - also it strips the colour from my hair which I guess is the SLS - I’m going to try the new premiere shampoo when this is done ,, fingers crossed

Been using this shampoo and conditioner since December and don’t feel like it does my hair any good. The conditioner doesn’t leave my hair feeling soft, my hair still feels quite dry. Dissapointed

I have been a loyal Kerastase customer for over 20 years. I had been using the Magistral range for quite a long time and it did wonders for my hair. Unfortunately now they have changed the formula and only now offer the Riche range which is TERRIBLE for my hair! It tangles and feels like a supermarket range. BRING BACK MAGISTRAL PLEASE!!
Unfortunately new formula is extremely drying and it left my hair in worse condition. My hair was in perfect condition before. My hair started tangling and it got very dry and brittle.
I have used Bain Magistral for many years and several times my hairdresser has commented on the fact my hair was in good condition. I am 65 years old now and am extremely disappointed. My hair is dry and staring and developing a straw like quality and given the price of this shampoo I feel I should be refunded. A very poor quality product the standard of a supermarket one
Soo disappointed in this. Turned my hair into brittle dry straw like with a very itchy scalp. Can’t believe the cost of this. Feel like I’ve been robbed and provided a cheap product with a nice bottle and luxury name on it with a very bad formula inside. False advertisement. I would like to be refunded or credit for something else to try to fix the damage they’ve caused. Very dishearten and will not be recommending anyone this line of products.

I bought this based on the good reviews and it is terrible, hands down the worst Kerastase product if have even used. It's surprising it is so drying (I have fine, straight, medium length, coloured hair) and the smell is atrocious - like a strong smelling bar soap from the 70's. There are so many nice smelling Kerastase products that I cannot believe they've released one with this fragrance. I have the conditioner also which I like and sort of has the same fragrance, but it's mild and the smell fades when dry. Boooo to this product!
Used this shampoo and the companion conditioner to combat dry hair, it caused my hair to become dry as straw, brittle and breaking off and caused significant hair loss and bald patches. This stuff should be illegal and the price of it! Is it even tested?? Horrendous smell too
Bring back Bain Magistral this was the best shampoo Kerastase had ever made for bleached blonde dry hair. It left my hair feeling smooth and extremely hydrated and was silicone free leaving my long blonde bleached hair hydrated and nourished. The "replacement" Bain Satin Riche is dreadful, it leaves my hair dry, crunchy, and every time I put my brush through it my hair snaps off, this is due to the excessive amount of silicone in it. Bain Magistral was silicone free and left my hair feeling amazing and was worth every penny, this is not even worth a penny. You couldn't even pay me to use this shampoo again. I have noticed that the vast majority of Kerastase shampoos now contain silicone which is extremely damaging to the hair, if I wanted a shampoo full of silicones I would purchase a cheap one from the drug store. AVOID IT ALL COSTS. PLEASE PLEASE BRING BACK BAIN MAGISTRAL (silicone free)
It's sticks like old block of soap and made my hair frizzy and dry and tangled. I have used other kerastase products and love them but this line is no good won't use again.
This line made my hair feel worse. I bought them because my hair has been dry from summer and it’s made it feel even WORSE. Not soft or shiny. I am devastated as I invested quite a bit of money :( To note I am a hairdresser of 25 years and know what I am doing. I took the QUIZ and was recommended this line as my hair is medium, course and dry!!!!
