I have dry but sensitive skin and find it hard to find moisturisers that work without clogging my pores. This one is super moisturising, gel formula and a little bit goes a long way. Haven’t had any issues with blocked pores since using it, great quality and my skin is happy. I’d say it’s good value for money seeing as you don’t need much of it and it’ll last a good while. It has a pleasant scent to it that leaves you feel fresh. I find the packaging simple but leaves you knowing what your getting.
I have been using this for over a year and it is by far my favorite moisturizer. Lots of people mention the change in formula, but I haven't noticed a change in quality and what it does for my skin. My skin is super dry, so I use every morning and also on the nights I'm not using an intense moisture mask. It's the best. I just wish they made a bigger size - I go through it pretty quickly!
A super light but highly moisturizing product. Excellent for my aging skin but terrific for my teenage son when he requires a bit of moisturizer for his face.
Product works well. However, I wish it were fragrance free. The fragrance is super strong.
This product used to be amazing but you killed it with fragrance. Makes my skin red now and not as moisturizing. I wish you didn’t change it
I have used many Avene prducts and love them however this creme stings and smells like perfume. I had to wash it off. From what I have read they changed their formula. I will have to return it.
TOTALLY DIFFERENT PRODUCT THAN IT USED TO BE. This has been my favorite facial product for over 5 years- it was silky and felt so good. I am SO SAD they decided to “improve” the formula! Why add a fragrance? It was perfect and mild before and now it smells chemically to me. But the worst thing is that it stung my face when I put it on! It used to be the best product for my sensitive skin, but it is no longer sensitive skin friendly. And worst of all the texture is all wrong- it’s sticky, not silky and light. PLEASE BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL FORMULA!!! I had to cancel my subscription until then:(
The old formula was better for sensitive skin, it was fragrance-free and very gentle....the new formula has a strong fragrance and the texture is more sticky, and not as gentle for sensitive skin.
Who asked for this reformulation?! I’ll be returning this ASAP, the fragrance is so overwhelming I thought I was sold a counterfeit product. I will not use the “new” Aqua Gel. Avène, shame on you. Another holy grail product gone. Stop messing with good things.
Unfortunately this product stings on sensitive skin and over time is making my skin peel and my neck break out in a rash. My skin can tolerate retinol so I'm not sure what I'm this product is making things go nuts. Sad that hydra-10 isn't available in the US -it's perfect.
I’m disappointed this formula has changed, the scent is too strong and I agree that it is more drying than the original. I’d ordered the original countless times and will sorely miss it. Won’t be reordering this again.
Please please please bring back the old formula without fragrance.
This is no longer the wonderful gel that felt so good on my face. It has a perfume that smells terrible. I never apply perfumed products! It stings when I apply it. The cream is so heavy and the gel has disappeared. I will no longer be purchasing it in the future! I feel you ruined a good thing!
It was disappointing to buy this product which I have been using for many years and find out that the formula changed. Unfortunately , it did not improve for the better for me. There is a slight scent, the consistency is thicker and it feels very sticky when you first apply it. And leaves a thin residue, which is quite annoying.The previous formula was incredible. Quite disappointing for a long time user.
Noooo I've been using this for years and I absolutely loooved it. Why'd you have to change the formula, now it's a lot thinner, stickier, and smells WAY stronger. Feels less hyrdating. Please please please bring back the old formula.
I have been using this moisturizer for over three years. Today I opened my subscription package to find the new glass container which is amazing. HOWEVER, the new formulation is terrible. Thick and sticky. Feels like it is just sitting on my skin. Used to look forward to using this everyday and now I need to find something new. Devastated!!!
The new formula contains SODIUM HYALURONATE or hyaluronic acid which can and will DRY out the skin. Avene's old formula Hydrance Aqua Gel without the hyaluronic acid was (next to squalane) one of THE best moisturizers on the market; period. But good things don't last forever. Rather than drying out my skin with the new "improved" formula, I will be looking for a new moisturizer. Why does the braintrust at Avene not know that for many people hyaluronic acid dries out their skin?
I bought these a few days ago and it feels nice to the skin, but I wish the would make a big size or a refill it’s a bi and small.
I've used this cream for four years. It was my favorite; no other brand could compare. My skin always felt hydrated and had no fine lines. Plus, it repaired redness or irritation in just hours. Now I find that the new formula doesn't hydrate as well; my skin feels dry and doesn't have a glass skin effect. The texture is different, like a regular cream, and it dries quickly. It also stings when I apply it. I also have to say the smell has changed. The first one was delicious, much better; this one smells like ordinary lotion. HELP PLEASE BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL FORMULA SOON!
They messed up the Hydrance Aqua-Gel with this new formula. I religiously used this product every day for years, but now it includes a fragrance that I am allergic to cannot stand having on my face all day because it irritates my sinuses. Sad and frustrated that I will need to start searching for a new face moisturizer.
