Soothing and leaves a protective barrier. It's thin and the spray is concentrated, there's no way to adjust the amount. It would be nice if there was a cream version. But I still love it. I already bought 2 more to stock up. I would recommend trying it.
My husband got 2nd and 3rd degree burns on his forearm and after 5 or so days of oozy wounds he started using this spray plus the Cicalfate cream - and within maybe 48 hours it looked COMPLETELY different. We were both shocked. At that point he started showing me the progress with each bandage change. It was exciting. Forever fans of everything Cicalfate.
Okay! When I say this product is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, I use it for everything on my face for skin Barrier Treatment, acne, burn , wound , scratch any irritation, rash you name it ! I mainly use it in my face daily for acne I also pair it with the restoration skin skin barrier cream love love that product please don’t discontinue has health with acne also don’t think twice buy both products….. and thank me later!
I used this recently after struggling for a few days with incredibly itchy skin (arms, torso, legs) but no rash or hives. The itching was unbearable. My skin had been moisturized and I couldn’t figure out the cause. I decided to try this spray after a shower and the itching pretty much stopped. I couldn’t believe how fast it worked. I’m going to use it for some of the other uses noted.
I purchased this for the first time to have on hand coming into spring/summer months because I have sensitive skin and always need soothing this time of year. I thought I would try it bc I love Avene products. Sure enough, I cut my finger horribly such that doc in the ER couldn't do stitches. It was bad. Long story short, after bandages came off (still so painful but wound needed air) this spray saved my sanity. I was hesitant to use it because what's it really gonna do, right? The cut still looked horrible and I was still in pain and it was going to be a long healing process. I got brave and lightly sprayed the wound. Let me tell you.. Game changerrrrrrr. No stinging at all. It keeps the wound dry, in a good way.... It doesn't feel tight. I swear I can feel the power of the ingredients working its magic and healing and making the area less painful. I swear it's healing faster. It has a lingering white cast to it but I like that as a reassuring reminder it's there and stays through gentle hand washes. Everyone should have this in their medicine cabinet!! 💙

its perfect relief and healing for my scratchy skin
I bought this without a purpose in mind but I have sensitive skin so I knew would use it eventually. I got sunburned and tried it along with the spring water and it really helped. I have tried alot of sunburn remedies and this is great.
I have Neurovascular Rosacea that's very painful, flares day and night. I've tried multiple topicals, prescription and moisturizers, as well as laser therapy. I have a personal fan on 24/7 and a small spritzer. I don't go anywhere without both. It's changed my life, I have difficulty performing every day tasks, waking during the night 2-10x. I have a 0 heat tolerance, so even with sunblock going out in the sun is painful. I used this spray and it calmed my skin immediately. I was able to sleep throughout the night without waking even once. I'm hopeful that I might be able to go out this summer and be able to enjoy my family without pain because of this product. I haven't been able to do that for years. I would recommend this to EVERYONE.

This version of Cicalfate is nice when you don’t want a heavy base. It is liquidy and absorbs very well. I like to use it on my hands because it does not have a greasy feeling.
Leaves white cast. I thought I could use it as a refresher, expecting it to be more hydrating and humectant than mineral water. However, it is not refreshing and leaves a heavy white cast, as a result the skin doesn’t feel hydrated. I don’t feel is a bad product, but is definitely not what I expected.
