The BEST lip balm EVER! Whenever I travel to Europe, I have to buy a handful because I know they're pricier here in the US but this lip balm smells so good of light vanilla and goes on so smoothly and is not goopy or sticky. It's been my go-to for years and it keeps my lips from being chapped throughout the day without having to re-apply constantly. A perfect base under lipstick or just by itself.
My lips are constantly dry - I have a problem with rubbing the dry skin off so they never recover. I find a lot of lip balms don’t actually moisturize that well but this is my go-to for healing my lips. It’s expensive but is now the only lip balm I use. I wish they would change the design a bit as there is a lot of product left in the bottom when it runs out that I have to use my nail to scrape out. Even with this, I still would highly recommend it to anyone with dry/ chapped lips.
This lip balm nourishes well, and also works as primer for lipstick.
Using the cold cream stick is part of my morning routine. I usually put on a little makeup so this stick prepares my lips for whatever I choose later in the process.
Extremely nourishing lip balm. Beats them all. The effect also lasts a long time. It seems to get absorbed rather than just sitting on your skin.

You can spend a small fortune seeking the perfect lip balm, or you can skip this agony and use Avene’s Lip Balm. I’ve spent that small fortune seeking the best only to circle back to Avene’s. Already, my old lips look and feel much better. I was delighted, however, to see my son applying the very same Avene lip balm on a recent trip. I gave him some more than 20 years ago and he said he’s never used anything else. Maybe that’s why his wife says he has fantastic lips!

This product is becoming harder and harder to get, but I cannot recommend this product enough. It's such a good product. I've used it since I was in high school. I really love the way it stays on my lips. And how hydrating it is for my lips. I use it every day throughout the year, not just in the winter. It really does a very good job at hydrating and also giving your lips a glossy appearance, which I like. It means that I don't have to put on lipstick.
I've ordered this a few times. Sometimes it's gritty, sometimes it's perfect consistency. What I don't understand is why it has fragrance. Many of the products that were eczema and rosacea friendly have changed or been discontinued. I always look to this brand as a source for fragrance free sensitive skin friendly products. This seems like a product that gets zero benefit from added fragrance. It's lips not a body lotion that someone might use to layer or in lieu of perfume. Please consider removing the fragrance from this product and work with both the eczema and rosacea boards to get friendly product formulas.
Really wish this didn’t include fragrance!! I assumed that avene wouldn’t have put any fragrance in a sensitive skin product and should’ve read the label. I had eczema within 3 days of continuous use using the cold cream. Skin peeling off around my lips within 5 days. I deeply love several Avene products that ARE fragrance free, so this was a disappointing discovery

I was expecting this to be a really nice and thicker formula but I’m very disappointed!! Especially for the rice. It’s very thin and does nothing.
Discovered this product on a cold trip to Vancouver, BC years ago and was suffering from extremely dry chapped lips. This product healed them almost overnight and I have swore by it ever since. However, I recently bought a replacement and noticed the packaging was different and the formula had certainly changed for the worse. Now this product joins the countless other uninteresting, interchangeable lip balms that simply do not work. Once my last tube of the OG formula runs out I will not be repurchasing. Better off with Aquaphor.
I haven been repurchasing the Avene Cicalfate Restorative Lip Cream FOR YEARS. This was sent to me last time I ordered it. I knew there was a balm. I tried it. I hated it. The cream has been the only thing that’s worked for me. Is it discontinued? Reformulated? I know I’m being dramatic but heartbreaking. I’m going to find it on other sites and stock up.
I absolutely loved the old formula for the cold cream lip balm. I can’t even use this lip balm at all anymore since it changed the formula. It immediately gave me the most dry, chapped lips I’ve ever had, for days. Please bring back the old formula, it was perfect the way it was.

Why would you put castor oil in your products when you are supposed to be a brand for very sensitive skin. Castor oil is known to be an allergen got me breakout all over my lips and around my mouth so itchy too. I will not recommend and now I will reconsider buying any avene products.
